Q: How did you get started in the wine industry?

A: I [Fernando] got started in the winery business when I was in high school working after school at Pine Ridge winery.

Q: What is one of your favorite varietals to work with and why?

A: Cabernet Sauvignon & Graciano

  • Cabernet Sauvignon - because of the thick skin is resistant to all kinds of weather. This variety makes such complete wine that has it all.

  • Graciano – hardly anyone knows about this varietal, it has a very unique flavor profile, and most everyone loves it once they try it.

Q: Is there a fun fact or interesting bit of information about your winery?

A: We are dog friendly and our two Labs, Falcor & Bijou, will most likely greet you at the front door.

Q: Is there anything you want us to know?

A: We produce around 15 different varietals

Q: What one of your wines is perfectly paired with a particular food and why?

A: Our Super Tuscan Sangiovese pairs perfectly with our homemade Northern Italian marinara, made with organic tomatoes, Sangiovese reduction, green and black olives, and black and gold raisins (for natural sweetness), slowly simmered to perfection.

Q: Which celebrity chef would you most like to fix you a meal that would then be paired with your wine?

A: We don’t really need a celebrity chef to fix us a meal as our founding partner, Jim Peterson, is one of the most talented and creative chefs I know!

Q: Who is your newly discovered band?

A: I just started listening to (and liking) Kenny Chesney.

Q: Last concert you went to?

A: Eric Darius

A: I play the piano. I saw over 100 Grateful Dead shows! My culinary specialties are anything Cajun and Southern.

Q: What do you wish you could tell yourself 10 years ago? What do you think you’ll want to tell your current self 10 years from now?

A: Don’t stress…what you think about, you bring about. Keep living in the moment and always be grateful.

Q: What technology innovation made the most impact on your life?

A: I enjoy good old human interaction more than technology.

Q: If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
